How to hide apps or content on Android

There are different methods to hide the view of the applications on the home screen of the Android operating system. However, the possibilities vary depending on the type of device. Some companies like Samsung offer a default option in the Settings menu. The option 'Hide Applications' is found in the 'Display' tab in the main configuration.

However, most manufacturers do not include this function by default. In that case, you can go to an external launcher, an application that allows you to customize the interface of your phone and that includes among its functions the ability to hide the apps you want. Some of the options you can consider are Apex Launcher and Nova Launcher.
Note that in the latter this function is only available in the paid version. In Apex Launcher, meanwhile, you must go to Settings, then to applications drawer and there to choose hidden applications. By adding a tool in this section, the app will disappear from the home screen, but it can be found in searches.

If you also want no multimedia content to be visible, there are alternatives such as using the hidden folders function that some manufacturers incorporate. Huawei offers the option of 'Safe', which allows you to encrypt photos, audio files, videos, and other data. To do this, you must enable a password between 6 and 16 characters and also answer two security questions. Once you follow these steps, you will only have to add the contents you want to hide.

You can also activate 'Private Space', which allows you to create an exclusive space to store information that you can only access with a PIN, a unique pattern or your fingerprint.

Samsung has a similar option called 'Secure Folder', which is based on the defense level Samsung Knox security system.
